Artwork inspired by L S Lowry - March 2018

As part of our Art topic we have been learning about the works of the artist L.S. Lowry.

Laurence Stephen Lowry was an English artist, born in 1887. Many of his drawings and paintings depict Pendlebury, Lancashire, where he lived and worked for more than 40 years, together with Salford and its surrounding areas.  He famously only used five different colours of oil paint in his work;  black, red,  blue, yellow and white, which at times we found to be quite a challenge.

We have also been learning about  'one point perspective' where pictures have one vanishing point on the horizontal line.

Our artwork in the style of Lowry was inspired by views of Loughborough town centre, with a one point perspective.
