Artwork inspired by L.S. Lowry - May 2016

As part of our Art topic we have been learning about the works of the artist L.S. Lowry.

Laurence Stephen Lowry was an English artist, born in 1887. Many of his drawings and paintings depict Pendlebury, Lancashire, where he lived and worked for more than 40 years, together with Salford and its surrounding areas.  He famously only used five different colours of oil paint in his work;  black, red,  blue, yellow and white, which at times we found to be quite a challenge.

Our artwork in the style of Lowry was inspired by views of Loughborough town centre.  This work is currently on display in the Year 5/6 corridor, please feel free to come and have a look at the end of a school day.
