International Languages Day
On Wednesday 21st February, the staff and children of Stonebow came together to celebrate International Mother Language Day.
Each Key Stage centred their work around a different continent and the children moved around from classroom to classroom to find out about life and language in different countries within that continent. From making paper windmills to tasting dumplings and dancing to ‘Gangnam Style’, a great day was had by all.
As usual, great efforts were made by the children and their parents to dress in colours to match their assigned country’s flag and many families sent in traditional dishes for us to taste. Thank you very much! A special thank you must go to the mum of Ming-Kui and Ruby Chen for her help in Mrs Holmes’ class to bring Taiwan to life.
We hope to celebrate this day again next year – any ideas for how to make it even better would be greatly welcomed.
