RSE at Stonebow

Since September 2020, Relationships, Sex and Health Education has been a compulsory part of our school curriculum. (See our RSE policy for further details.)

At Stonebow we teach RSHE through our weekly PSHE lessons, as well as through assemblies, visitors to school, science units and topic work.

In the second half of the Summer Term the PSHE theme for all our pupils is ‘Growing and Changing’. Staff will teach lessons based on the SCARF scheme of work that we follow, adapting the content to match our own class’s needs. (To see what topics each year group will be learning about please refer to the document ‘Information for Parents about the Scarf content’.)

Family and relationships are such a fundamental thread in RSHE so we really hope our pupils’ families make time to talk about their own values and experiences, and establish a shared understanding about places to go for help if children need to.

We welcome your support and feedback in our provision of this subject either through your child’s class teacher or via Fiona Panni, our PSHE lead.
