Year 5 Seb Coe Visit

On Monday 11th July we took 20 Year 5 children to Charnwood College to take part in an afternoon of sporting events. We arrived at the college to be greeted by a brass band, cheerleaders and photographers. Not long after our arrival Lord Sebastian Coe and his entourage met the children and spoke individually to Ugo in Mrs Mistry's class about the upcoming Olympics and his own sporting interests.

After, we enjoyed a healthy lunch with the other five schools taking part before beginning an afternoon of sporting activities.

Unfortunately the rain came down on several occassions, but this did not dampen our spirits. The children used their Stonebow Learning Powers to complete the ten different activities including; football dribbling, balancing, beanbag throwing and speed bounce.

All of the children proudly represented Stonebow and enjoyed the afternoon at Charnwood College as well as meeting Seb Coe.
