Welcome to Class 11
Miss Holmes, Mrs Halford and Mrs Chouhan
Welcome to Class 11
The Summer Term is going to be a fantastic time of learning. After discovering how hard-working and enthusiastic the children in Class 11 are, there are many challenges planned for them.
Our topic for this term is Pirates. We will be learning about; life as a pirate, the language they used, famous pirates and important events that occured during the era of pirating.
We have become amazing writers and we want to get better and better at it. We will be using 'The Count of Monte Cristo' to help us write a pirate themed story. Keeping with our pirate theme, we will also be creating our own instructions to build a pirate ship and other things that pirates do.
As marvellous mathematicians, we will continue to build on methods from last term as well as learning new ones. Our focus across the term is number and place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, decimals, percentages, measurement, statistics and shape. We cannot stress how vital it is to learn all times tables at a speed as that will support and strengthen the learning in all areas of Mathematics.
We are continuing to become curious scientists this term by looking at the properties and changes of materials. There will be investigations to undertake and questions to be answered through this subject. It will surely make us understand more about the world we live in.
PE kits are essential on Thursdays and dont forget your swiming kit on a Monday.
Home learning remains a key part of our children’s education this will include; English and maths tasks; a creative project and weekly practise of spellings and times tables. All weekly homework tasks are due every Wednesday, along with spelling tests!
Life in class 11 is about working hard, learning with each other and from each other and trying our very best. Our learning culture is not to give up!
We are life-long learners, striving to do our very best and having lots of fun as we do it!
