Curriculum Organisation and responsibility
At Stonebow we have created teams to manage all areas of the curriculum to ensure that it is knowledge based and sequential with contributions from members of staff and children (see diagram). Each team has specific curriculum subjects to manage against an annual plan. In turn, these plans contribute to the whole school development plan.
Curriculum leaders are responsible for leading and monitoring their area. All leaders will prepare and deliver staff meetings during the year to develop teachers and the pupils’ subject knowledge and to provide CPD opportunities. Resources and equipment will be managed by the leaders to ensure that all experiences can be taught effectively and have maximum impact upon learning that results in more children working at expected standards and at greater depth. Subjects are always led in teams as we believe in the power of collaboration. Using the following areas of learning as team identifiers, national curriculum subjects are managed within the teams or as individuals in some cases.
