Hello everyone!

I;m going to be your new teacher in Year 1. I know that I have met lots of you before but I haven’t been able to spend as much time with you as I would have liked this year so, in case you can’t remember, my name is Miss Logue.

I’m really excited about all of the things that we will be learning in Year 1. For the first couple of weeks, the whole school is going to be looking at a picture book called Journey. I wonder what it will be about! After that, our topic for the first half term will be Our School and we will be working towards answering the question ‘What would we find in a place like this?’ We will be learning about the local area so it might help you to go and explore over the summer holidays. Maybe you could visit Stonebow Bridge.

Mrs Donaghy and Mrs Pitchers have given you all a summer holiday diary to fill in over the holidays. You can fill this in to tell me about all of the exciting things that you get up over the holidays. You can write, draw pictures or even take pictures and stick them in. You should also have a paper bag. I want to find out more about you so would like you to fill this bag with 3 things that will tell me a little bit about you and I will do the same so you can learn something about me. Bring your holiday diary and your bag back with you when you come back to school at the end of August. Don’t worry you will get everything back once we have looked at them!

Keep an eye on Tapestry over the next few weeks as I will add some videos and pictures of our classroom so that you know a little of what to expect when we are back at school.

Have a lovely summer, stay safe and see you soon!

Miss Logue

P.S. The 2 little paws at the bottom of my video belong to my dog who decided to ‘video bomb’. Mrs Donaghy has told me how much you enjoyed her dog helping with phonics and other videos so watch out for some stories with Wilf on Tapestry over the summer!
