This Term:

Our topic is this term is ‘Our School’ and part of our work will answer the question, ‘What makes our school?’ We will learn about our local area and beyond in our Geography work and how school has changed in History. We may also make some links with other schools to find out how we are similar and different.

In English work, we will be linking our work to the poem ‘The Magic Box’ by Kit Wright and the book ‘The Secret Box’ by Barbara Lehman.

Mathematics:

Our topic for Science this term is Everyday Materials and we will also be working to answer the question, ‘why do we use different materials?’ We will be working to develop our ability to name and describe the properties of different materials and investigating their uses.

Thursday afternoons:

On a Thursday afternoon the children will have French, music, PE and PSHE with Madame Allenby, Mr Welsford, Mr Brewin and Miss Sykes. There will be two sessions each afternoon and these will rotate each half term so that the children will get an even amount of all four subjects.
