Hello everyone!

By the time that you read or watch this, most of the current Year 1 children will know that I will be your new Year 2 teacher when we hopefully all return at the end of August! For any parents that haven’t met me before, my name is Miss Turner and I have taught in Year 2 for quite a few years now.

I’m already really looking forward to what we will be learning about in the Autumn term! As we do each year, everyone in school will begin the start of the new school year by looking at a picture book. I’m not going to tell you too much about our chosen book for this year but we will do lots of learning from it in the first couple of weeks. Our topic for the first half-term will be ‘Our School’ – perfect for us all coming back together. We will also learn about our local area and the wider geography too.

I know that you might be a little bit nervous already about moving classes and coming back to school if you haven’t already. How you are feeling is completely normal, even if this school year is very different compared to last year. I really want you to know just how excited I am about us all being back together again and I can’t wait to carry on getting to know all of you!

Miss Logue will have passed a couple of things on to you that I’d like you to look at over the summer. You should have a brown paper bag and it would be great if you could put just three items inside that tell us a little bit about you. You could always decorate it too before bringing it in in the first few days back. I’m already thinking about mine! She will have also passed on a diary and I’m looking forward to seeing what you write and tell me about your summer holiday.

Take care, stay safe and keep smiling!

See you soon!
