Bonjour à tous!
Je suis Madame Allenby et je suis professeur de français ici.
Most of you know who I am but for those of you who don’t I am Mrs Allenby and I am the French teacher here at Stonebow. We begin learning French in Year One and continue all the way through to Year Six. The best part of my job is being able to teach most of the children in the school most weeks, having fun and working hard in our French lessons.
If you are going to be in Year One in September, you will already know me from my time with you in Foundation Stage last year. In September, we will start by learning how to say ‘hello’ and ‘goodbye’ to someone in French and saying how we are feeling.
Year Twos, we will begin the year by learning the months of the year and our numbers in French up to twenty.
If you are in Year Three or Four, the first topic of the year will be all about animals and if you are in Year Five or Six we will be focusing on sports and leisure activities.
I realise that it has been a long time since we have done any French together so our first few lessons will be spent playing lots of language games to jog our memories of the words and phrases that we already know.
Have a lovely summer! I can’t wait to see you all soon!
