Ravenstor - May 2019
What a brilliant first day we have had at Ravenstor. After the bus journey, we had our picnic lunch out on the lawn in the sunshine. Mrs Street then took us on a countryside walk along the Monsal Trail. We began the walk by climbing up, what felt like a hundred stone steps, to reach the trail and then walked through the Litton Tunnel which is 400m long. But don't worry it was lit so we didn't have to walk in the dark and we had great fun making echos.
Arriving back at the Youth Hostel, we went up to our rooms and unpacked ready for a delicious dinner of lasagna or jacket potatoes, followed by a scrummy dessert.
Some of us watched a movie in the evening, Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, whilst the rest of us played in the games room.
After a very hearty cooked breakfast, we met up with the centre leaders who told us about the four different activities that we'd be taking part in today: fire building, den making, archery and orienteering. We did two before lunch and two after. The morning was full of rain showers but we certainly didn't let it stop us having fun.
Thursday evening was our end of trip talent show and disco night. Following a hilarious warm up by Mrs Halford, we were thoroughly entertained by the wonderful performers. We had magicians, singers, dancers, jokers and actors all displaying their incredible abilities on 'STONEBOW'S GOT TALENT'.
Look how much fun we had over the three days......
