Sport Relief 2018
On Friday 23rd March everyone at Stonebow joined in to support a very worthy cause to raise money. The day started with children, parents and school staff all dressed in their sporty attire, energetically getting involved in a ‘Wake up - Shake up’ routine in the playground. Our Metcalf coach threw us into a routine full of twists, turns and jumps. Mrs Mistry and Miss Walsh were soon out of breath but looking around all the children were on fire and had lots more energy. If only we had all the energy Mrs Noble had!
Throughout the day children were involved in many cross curricular activities linked to Sport Relief. It was very educational finding out about the variety of worthy projects in England and abroad from the money raised.
Claire our cook also got involved and made some healthy fruit smoothies for the children to taste. It was a delight seeing some of the faces as they tried them. Some found a new taste whereas others still needed convincing! They were truly delicious!
Our assembly at the end of the day provided just a little more support towards Sport relief and many giggles as staff were thrown into challenges from skipping, team ball sports and bean bag throwing. The grand finale was the best. Although challenging Mr Brockless, Mr Lees and Mr Welsford gave it 100% when they were challenged to hoola hoop. This may be something they need to continue to practice but without a doubt they used all their Stonebow powers to do their best.
A fantastic day, we raised £340, thank you and well done everyone.
Have a look at the photos to see how much fun we had.
