Year 5/6 Boys' Football - September 2019
On Thursday 19th September Stonebow were represented at a Year 5/6 boys football tournament where we did exceptionally well. The boys had a difficult first game where fell behind early in the game, however they didn’t change their approach to the game and continued to play a passing style of football which showed great perseverance.
Having lost the first game, the team had lost a bit of their confidence, after a couple of words of encouragement from each other they went into the second game feeling a lot better. They continued to play our style of football and improving on our passing accuracy, which resulted in Josh scoring a thunderbolt from midfield leading to us winning the game.
In the third and final game confidence was high and we started really well against a strong Outwoods team, it continued to be a close game with Ollie scoring very quickly after Outwoods scored. Lucas then scored what can only be described as a wonder goal from around the halfway line giving Stonebow a slender lead, Outwoods pushed for a goal and unlucky for us they managed to get one right at the end of the game resulting in a deserved draw.
