Year 6 Outdoor Activity Afternoon - July 2017

On Wednesday 5th July, the entire Year 6 cohort were treated to a fun-filled activity afternoon on the field in celebration of a fantastic term and great SATs results.

The activities included: fire building, archery and stretcher building. The children had to use all of their Stonebow Learning Powers, particularly perseverance and resilience, especially when trying to build a stretcher that was able to support the weight of each another. They also thought that fire lighting would be really easy but were quite surprised to realise that it took real perseverance to get the wood to burn enough to create the fire.  Harry (our resident Scout) led the group that was finally sucessful in achieving this.

A big thank you to Mr Lees for providing all of the equipment to allow the children to have so much fun.
