Zoolab - September 2018

Our visit from ZooLab was thoroughly enjoyable. The ranger introduced a variety of Rainforest creatures which many children were eager to handle (some not so much!) These included a giant snail, scorpion, tree frog, millipede, tarantula, cockroach and a snake! We were ‘wowed’ by seeing the scorpion glow under UV light and feeling all the legs of the millipede. It was interesting to hear all about life in the steamy tropics and the different layers in which the animals live.

All four classes displayed their powers of Enthusiasm and Curiosity, asking lots of questions to find out more. Did you know that giant snails are both male and female? Also, tarantulas can go a month without food! I’m sure all of the children will be keen to share their own fantastic facts.
