The children worked together in groups, prompted by an exciting image to write rich phrases and sentences to describe the scenes. They expanded the descriptions with adjectives they discussed with each other.

 

The Year 3 maths group from our class often use concrete manipulatives like base ten blocks to help visualise tricky mathematical concepts. In this case the idea of division as an inverse of multiplication.

 

As part of our Autumn plants topic; leaf identification of the local florae; how plants transport fluids around their stem and leaves and plant survival were all part of our science topic that the children were fascinated with.  

 

We studied the geographical locations and biomes of the world's rainforests, including a visit by a real life jungle explorer who shared his experiences good and not so good trekking the rainforest for Africa and South America!
