We received a video from our link school in Epinal.  The children there introduced themselves to us and we filmed some short videos in response.

The videos sent by our French friends can be viewed by clicking on the links below.

On Thursday 11th November the children in Year 3 and 4 learnt about how Armistice Day is commemorated in France.  We found out that instead of wearing poppies, the French wear 'bleuets' which are blue cornflowers.  This is because young French soldiers in WW1 wore blue uniforms.  We also found out that Armistice Day is a public holiday in France - many people take part in events in towns and villages across France and come together to remember those who sacrificed and continue to sacrifice themselves in conflicts across the world.

Take a look at the cornflowers that we made.
